Tim Cowden Body Bag Kayak
Article By Shorty

Every time I visit CYC, I see lots of deer.
This year as I pulled into the club driveway, a group of them were feeling brave and stood there long enough for me to take their picture.

The first arrival was Bob Williams with his newly built IMB.
We started chatting and suddenly everyone started to arrive.

Tim Cowden (know as "the other Tim"), designed and partially built a new boat to replace his older one that he has brought in previous years.
Last year Tim was a test pilot an experimental sail configuration he had brought to mess with.

Since the boat is only partially finished, Tim brought some plastic sheeting, duct tape and binder clips so that he could have the maiden launch at the messabout.

Look at that boat!!! That is just too cool Tim!!!
The boat is a design that Tim created, and currently un-named.

Slipping on the plastic, and almost killing him, the design name "Body Bag" was suggested.

Or possibly the name "Visqueen Vagabond".

Would you look at that boat go ?

Just the first quick paddle of many trips out that day, I think Tim has ushered in a new era launching craft at Messabouts.
