Mini 12 Sailboat - Illusion

Article By Shorty

Back in the early 1980's a few people started making variations of the America's Cup 12 meter boats.

This new class were called the Mini 12's. Really fun to sail, you sit inside the boat and steer with your feet. All the sail controls are in front of you so you can work the lines without having to move.

The 2 big things that this class of boat does is to 1: eliminate the advantage of being athletic - there is no hiking. 2: brings all the complexity of a big boat with only 1 crew, don't have to worry about finding other crew show up.

Pretty sure Gavin like it, look at that smile!

Was pretty gusty, so the jib stayed rolled up most of the time.
